The internet is becoming increasingly relevant to therapists, particularly when 43% of Britons use the net to find health and well being information. Many people are too busy for a phone call to discuss their medical issues, or to book an appointment, so they turn to the internet for quick answers and information. Your therapy website should be a useful information port for these people and act as a promotion for your own services. Should these website visitors decide that they would like treatment, your website will lead them directly to booking an appointment with you.
Your website would be accessible at all times, and will appear in search engines like Google. So even when you aren’t working, your website is working for you, giving information to potential patients, and advertising your practice.
Your website would allow potential patients to find out everything they need to know about your clinic. Useful details such as opening hours, contact details and your services needs to be available on your site so that patients have all the information they want before booking an appointment.
Not only will a website increase interest in your company, but it will also put you ahead of your competitors. When there’s so much information readily available, today’s computer-savvy consumers can afford to be picky about where they take their business. Individuals will spend time on the web researching and comparing a number of clinics in order to decide where to take their custom. If you’re not online, your business won’t even be considered. Don’t sit back and allow competitors to gain your potential patients.
A website is an extension of your company, your ideologies and your values. After all, your potential patients are trying to find credible, qualified therapists who they can trust with their health. If you don’t have a website, you may appear illegitimate and unprofessional, and ultimately, not to be trusted.
It’s a myth that websites are expensive. In fact, they can help you to save money. Having a website is more cost effective than using print materials, such as booklets and leaflets, to get your information across. Your website will contain all of the information your potential patients need to know.
Websites can be edited quickly and easily, allowing you to keep up-to-date with the changes happening at your practice at a minimal cost.
On the internet, your patients can share and recommend your website to others, as well as leave reviews and feedback of their experience. This is useful as it shows others the excellence of your services. If you receive negative feedback, being online allows you to enter dialogue with others so you can apologise for their poor experience and ask how you can improve your services. This will show that you are genuine, willing to respond and apologise to those who are dissatisfied.
You can have additional features on your website, such as a blog. A blog is a place where you can write and publish your own articles. This is a great opportunity to show off your knowledge, or simply humanise your company. For example, writing an engaging piece relevant to your business will show potential patients that you know what you’re talking about. Other posts could be opinion pieces on news or current affairs, information about things happening at your practice or even reviews of therapy-related events or talks. This gives you a voice and persona, making your business more unique and likable. If you choose to have a blog, make sure you keep it up-to-date, as this will appear more professional and show you maintain your online presence.
Embracing the internet will help your practice grow beyond your expectations, and when it does, you’ll wonder why you didn’t set up a website sooner.
