Google ranking refers to the position at which a particular site appears in the results of a search engine query. A site is said to have a high ranking when it appears at or near the top of the list of results.
A higher Google ranking, drives more traffic to your website which ultimately helps increase the amount of referrals you receive. In today’s post we will be discussing the top 5 ways you can boost your Google ranking. Are you ready?
It is crucial you have relevant content on your website that is both useful and original in order to entice your target market. However, once you have great content, it doesn’t mean you can relax and abandon your site. You need to update the content regularly. A blog is the perfect way to do this. Blogs are a quick and easy way to keep the content flowing and keep your audience interested.
Link building refers to the process of getting external pages to link to a page on your website. It is one of the best SEO methods that can help increase your search engine ranking and increase the amount of traffic that is driven to your website.
Link building is a very popular method amongst webmasters as it it is free.
However, in order for it to be effective you need to ensure relevant backlinks are used. For example if you are on Osteopath, make sure you register your business with directories appropriate to your profession such as “GoodTherapy.org” and “Osteopathy Plus”.
Search engines look through the content for the following; page title, meta description, text on your page(s) and links to other pages. The page title must contain the keywords, these are what people will search for to find your website so it must be consistent with your content. ‘Alt texts’ give a brief description of photographs, videos & graphics.
Usually ‘alt texts’ are used to make a site more accessible for visually impaired users but they also help with SEO.
Social media such as Facebook and Twitter are a good way to promote your site. Linking both website and social media will boost google ranking for both and increase traffic. Have a similar strategy across all platforms with friendly content and images.
Google likes sites with code and content that’s well organised. It will also make your site more user friendly and provide a better base for an appealing design.
By using a fresh flow of original content, ensuring you use relevant links to your practice and the services you provide, optimising the code of your website, utilising social media and ensuring your website is well organised and well presented to improve the “journey” of your audience will definitely help in boosting your ranking in Google. The higher the ranking in Google, the easier your website and therefore your practice is to find.
